Absolute Beginner's Class Learn to dance the authentic Argentine tango in a fun and easy way. Over the course of 8 weeks, Tony and Ilana will introduce the fundamental elements of social dancing, walking, leading the cross, the "8 count" basic, front/back ochos, paradas, fun leg games, molinetes, navigation skill, and improvisations. Tony and Ilana's teaching approach emphasizes the social aspect of the Argentine tango. This class will prepare you the skill and the confidence to dance Argentine tango at every major cities in the world. This is not just a class for dancing step patterns, but it will also improve your posture, coordination, balance, and rhythm. No partners required. No dance experience required.
Includes a class field trip to a Tango club in Seattle.
This is the class for you, if you: Are an absolute beginner but dying to learn the tango, Have two left feet & have never danced before, Have done classes elsewhere but want to be exposed to a different kind of teaching method, Or just want to have fun and meet people!

Int./Adv. Level Boleos and Combinations How about 8 weeks of materials dedicated just for Boleos??? Boleos (or Voleo) in tango are swivel and return of the free leg around the weighted leg with a whipping action. Boleos are beautiful, fun, and satisfying to do. It is a cool way to link the dance as directional changes.
Topics included in this 8 weeks are: front & rear boleos, high & low boleos, line boleos, liquid boleos, leaders boleos, boleo figures...and much more... Please come and join us to discover these many exciting aspects of boleos!!!

Beg./Int. Level Tango Turns and New Concepts
This class will work on many concepts and variations of tango turns. It includes resolution of turns, turn embellishments for the leaders & followers, and turn combinations. This class will also present new and interesting ideas in turns and change of directions. Don't miss this one of the “nuts and bolts” class that will give you a greater understanding of the structure of the Argentine Tango.

Int./Adv. Level Sacadas and Combinations
How about 8 weeks of materials dedicated just for Sacadas??? Sacada means displacement of the feet/position in tango. Sacadas are not just fancy steps that’s beautiful to watch, but it is also fun to do and easy to understand. ..walking sacadas, rear sacadas, high sacadas, follower’s sacadas, continuous sacadas, sacada in turns, line sacadas, sacada figures…and much more…Sound interesting??? Please come and join us to explore these many exciting systems of sacadas!!! |
