Seattle Tango Classes

Tony and Ilana  have been dancing tango together for more than 27 years. The beauty of their movement comes from their maturity in the dance, strong connection and deep respect for the music.

Absolute Beginner's Tango Class

Absolute Beginner's Tango Class (Beg. Level 1)

Learn to dance the authentic Argentine tango in a fun and easy way!

No partners required. No dance experience necessary.

This is the class for you, if you:

  • Are an absolute beginner excited to learn the Argentine tango.

  • Have taken tango classes before but like to review the materials.

  • Have two left feet & have never danced before,

  • Or just want to have fun and meet people!

Romantic Tango Steps (Int./ Adv. Level)

This is the continuation of the musicality series to explore melody and phasing in the music. In this series, we will introduce many romantic tango steps and embellishments that match the melodic tango music. Material will also include some tango poses. In addition, we will also explore body mechanics and the correct posture required to express the music.

Tango Vocabulary & Linking Steps (Int. Level)

This class series will concentrate on understanding the different tango vocabulary.

Each week Tony and Ilana will introduce a basic understanding of different tango vocabulary and show you how to link them to form a dance and have fun on the social dance floor. Vocabulary includes Boleo, Sacada, Parada, Monlinette, and Arreste.

Playful Tango Steps & Embellishments (Int./ Adv. Level)

This special summer class series is ideal for anyone who would like to add more fun steps and embellishments in their tango repertoire for social dancing!
Would you like to "safely" surprise your partner on the dance floor? Would you like to do something fun to interpret the music? Would you like to enhance your ability to improvise while social dancing? Would you like to awe your partner with embellishments? If so, this is the class for you. Ilana calls this class- A perfect sweet summer treat!
